Things That Make You Go Hmmm . . .
So if you’ve never attended a DEFCON convention . . . well, to sum it up . . . it’s interesting. Half hacker geek fest, half counter-culture fetish extravaganza. It’s not to be missed if you find yourself in Las Vegas at the end of July.
The thing that caught my eye as suspicious while walking through the lobby was the addition of 3 mobile ATM machines, complete with the DEFCON logo on screen:
Now, this is a hardcore hackers gathering . . . why on earth would you trust a temporary ATM here???
Interestingly enough, the ATMs had a very suspicious attachment on the front where you slide the card. Could this be a mag strip skimmer?
Not sure if these were for real . . . and wasn’t going to try my luck with my card! I don’t think I saw a single person use one of these machines!
